I imagine there are a lot of reasons debate would trigger a reaction. First of all, despite how logical anyone claims to be, abortion involves a great deal of emotion.
Was there a lot of debate surrounding you when you first decided?
I think emotions that are similar to the ones in debate might very well trigger a strong reaction. Also, if you find yourself reading about a particular situation that is
at all similar to yours, the emotions could come back.
The bright side is that it means you have a heart, even if it's not much fun for you. Emotions, unfortunately, do not just come up when we want them to.
I haven't been exactly where you are, but that is my best observation from dealing with others, and with loss and emotion in other circumstances. I don't know if it helps.
I will say that I think your reaction is definitely normal.
