very normal. I have not had an abortion myself, but I have had a miscarriage, but I have been talking to women who have
had abortions for many years, and have a bit of grief education, so I can say for sure that you are not going through an
unusual emotions at all. No matter what your view, you still suffered a loss and there is a certain amount of grieving
that goes along with that quite often.
I can recommend two books, if that sort of thing will help. The first was
really written to teens and is called, "No One Told Me I Could Cry" by Connie Nykiel. The second is called, "The Healing
Choice" by Candace De Puy, PH.D. & Dana Dovitch, PH.D. The biggest problem with counseling is not necessarily someone
judging you per se, but them recognizing that you actually are grieving from the abortion itself. Some counselors let
their view of choice get in the way of that, unfortunately. If that happens, just find someone else who will just listen
and be there. Also, most Crisis Pregnancy Centers have support groups for women who have had an abortion.
