It is not that unusual for your period to be a week or two later than expected after an abortion, but if 6 weeks post abortion you haven't had a period, you should have it checked out. However, if you still haven't had your follow-up appointment, you should do so asap to make sure everything is O.K.
I agree that the things you were concerned about (sex, bathing, etc.) cannot in and of themselves cause scar tissue, but an infection can. The danger is risk of infection. If you start running a fever or excessive bleeding, you should get medical care asap.
Please get a follow-up, even if it's not at the clinic. A lot of women have a difficult time going back to the clinic that performed an abortion, but it is important to get follow-up care. If nothing else, you need that for your own peace of mind.
